Bulandshahr went viral on social media soon after it was submitted.
“Lord Shiva’s kamandal with water keeps appearing in my dreams. I also saw snakes around the shivalinga,” read the letter dated August 5. The letter, after explaining the reason for leave, mentions that Vinod would need six days off to “fulfil” the Lord’s wish.
ASP (Allahabad) Sukirti Madhav told TOI, “Constable Vinod Kumar’s letter has gone viral on social media and
WhatsApp after he sought a six-day leave to offer jalabhishek to Lord Shiva during the ongoing month of Shrawan.”
ASP (Bulandshahr) Pramod Kumar said, “The constable had submitted the leave application to the deputy SP of Sayana circle and sought leave of six days mentioning that Lord Shiva had appeared in his dreams asking him to be a kanwariya and come to Haridwar to offer jalabhishek.”
