CHANDIGARH: Congress
communications in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said on Sunday that the people of Haryana were suffering because of the CM Manohar Lal Khattar-led government's habit of taking U-turns.
Surjewala was addressing a workers' meeting at Pundri in
Kaithal district.
Yaking a dig at the feud between the INLD and the BJP, Surjewala said the war of words between the two parties was like a clash between 'an uncle and an nephew'. He described the INLD as the 'B' team of the BJP. "INLD leaders speak of taking up public issues. But when it comes to raising a voice against the Modi government, the INLD stays back," he said. He said the people of Haryana had made up their minds to vote for the Congress in the 2019 state assembly elections. He announced that all farm loans of up to Rs 1 lakh given to farmers having land
holdings of less than 3-4 acres, landless agricultural labourers, and the poor would be waived if the Congress came to power. Advocating farm loan waiver to Haryana farmers and landless poor, he said the government was not providing the minimum support price (MSP) to farmers for their produce. "The government has failed to provide even the officially announced minimum support prices for various crops," he said. Surjewala then attacked the BJP-ruled Centre and the Haryana government, claiming that they had failed on all fronts and no section of society was happy with their performance.
