Congress may follow ‘Dope test for candidate ‘within the party. The Congress high Command in view to implement the dope test for all of its contesting candidates within the party. Congress led Punjab Government has sent the proposal of dope test for rural and urban bodies’ election for consideration to the party high command. The Party has to reply yet on this issue. Earlier the Party has rejected the proposal of mandatory 10th class education for local elections. But dope issue has been kept under consideration. Talking to Daily Post, the Minister for rural development and Panchayat, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said whether the party approve or not, but this election will be conducted with the dope test report with nomination file on moral ground.
For any new development, the Congress run Punjab Government sends issue to party high command for consideration, so that such development cannot make adverse impact on the policies of the party in other states. Earlier the party high command had disapproved the proposal 10th class education mandatory for candidates, contesting local election.
But the drug issue is different from others, which gave the party an opportunity to come to power in the State. Moreover the party does not have any challenge from raising this issue right now as it is still giving benefit. Sources in the party told that the high command is still reviewing the proposal whether can it be implemented on the all Congress candidates across the Country or it may be harmful for other state units.
