This stunning video captures a pod of dolphins frolicking above and beneath the waves off the coast of Anglesey.

The footage was captured on drone and Go-Pro by Gwilym Huws just off Llanddwyn, while he was out fishing with his cousins Carwyn Dafydd, Anna Huws and Megan Huws yesterday.

The 25-year-old from Y Felinheli , who makes videos as a hobby, described the experience as “insane.”

He said: “We often go out fishing on the boat and as we got to Llanddwyn, lots of dolphins suddenly appeared and stayed almost within touching distance of us for about 30 minutes.

“There must’ve been a few pods with about 15 dolphins in total.

“I was lost for words from the experience, it was amazing.

“I always take my filming equipment out with me as I made videos as a hobby so I was so happy to get the footage of the dolphins using my drone and Go-Pro.

“It was something we will never forget. It was insane.”

Dolphins have become increasingly common around the Welsh coast.

Last week, we reported how a huge pod put on a captivating display as they followed two boats in the waters off Anglesey.

Up to 50 common dolphins were spotted gracefully swimming alongside a group of tourists who were enjoying a rib ride near Puffin Island.

Hundreds of people have since been uploading images of their sightings on social media.
