Judiciary vs Modi govt: SC judges unhappy over Justice KM Joseph being made 'junior'

Some SC judges will meet CJI Dipak Misra to lodge protest over Centre's move to make Justice KM Joseph juniormost among 3 judges taking oath on August 7, 2018. Judges are upset as according to the Centre's notification, Justice Indira Banerjee will take oath first followed by Justices Vineet Saran and Joseph. This will make him the juniormost among the 3 judges taking oath. Judges believe Justice KM Joseph should take oath first as his name was first recommended in January along with that of senior advocate Indu Malhotra. At that time, the govt had returned KM Joseph's name, saying he was too junior.
