In a shocking incident, a father reportedly threw his three children into Neeva river from bridge at Gangadara Nellore mandal headquarters, 10 km from here, on Sunday night. The bodies were found floating on the surface this morning by local people who in turn informed the police. The bodies were fished out around 9 a.m. and shifted to Government General Hospital at Chittoor for postmortem.

Preliminary information is that a couple of nearby village Jettigundlapalli used to quarrel frequently over family matters. The villagers informed the police that the couple had a bitter fight on Sunday night. Later, the father, a farm worker, was seen carrying the children and moving towards Gangadara Nellore around 10.00 pm. The neighbourhood thought that it was normal thing with the family.
