Boy one of two charged over man 'on fire' in Mandurah
Police have charged two people, including a teenager, after officers were called to reports a man was on fire near Mandurah on Saturday evening.
Mandurah detectives have charged a 15-year old boy and a 37-year-old man over the incident in Dudley Park.
Police will allege about 6:40pm they were called to a disturbance on Durras Place.
"Information provided at the time was that a man was on fire," police said in a statement.
Once police arrived at the scene they found a 34-year-old man nearby who had burns and other injuries.
He was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital by St John ambulance where he remains on MondaY.
Police went to a nearby residence where the teenager and 37-year-old man were arrested.
"It will be alleged the 15-year-old boy caused the burns injuries the man had sustained and it will be further alleged the 37-year-old man deleted vision of the incident, which had been recorded on a CCTV system," the police statement added.
The 15-year-old boy from Dudley Park has been charged with grievous bodily harm. He's been refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on Monday.
The 37-year-old man from Dudley Park has been charged with wilfully destroy evidence and is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court later this month.
