Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa has been updated with over 350 new skills for children. The company says that kids will now be able to engage with their favourite characters and access a range of entertaining and educational content on Amazon Echo smart speakers. New skills include a quiz from Amar Chitra Katha to help expand kids’ knowledge of Indian mythology, learning about animal kingdom with Tinkle’s Shikari Shambu, solving brain teasers with Suppandi, singing along popular nursery rhymes and listening to stories from ChuChu TV and gamified learning from Playablo.
For children, in addition to new skills from popular characters, Amazon says that Alexa is equipped with a lot of stories and songs. According to the company, you can ask Alexa questions like: ‘Alexa, tell me a Birbal story’, ‘Alexa, sing a song’ or ‘Alexa, sing the alphabet song’.
The company claims that Alexa has answers for inquisitive children and can help kids solve queries related to mathematics, science and general knowledge. Some of the questions and queries that can be posed to Alexa are: ‘Alexa, convert 1500 meters into kilometers’, ‘Alexa, what is the square root of 189?’, ‘Alexa, what is photosynthesis?’ etc. You can also ask it questions like: ‘Alexa, why is the sky blue?’, ‘Alexa, which is the highest mountain in the world?’, ‘Alexa, how big is the sun?’ and the like.
New features like ChuChu TV, Amar Chitra Katha Quiz and Forest Fortune
