Indore: Saloni Arora sent on police remand in Kalpesh Yagnik suicide case


Indore: Saloni Arora, who was arrested from Mumbai in connection with abetting suicide of former group editor of Dainik Bhaskar Kalpesh Yagnik, was on Sunday produced before court that sent her on police remand till August 9. Persons, who were in touch with her during her absconding, are also being traced.

DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra told media persons that Yagnik had taken fatal step as he was being harassed by journalist Saloni for Rs 5 crore and job. She was also threatening him of getting framed in false cases. She was booked under Section 386, 503, 306 of IPC and section 67, 68-A of IT Act and was arrested from outside a restaurant in Mumbai.

Mishra said that Saloni was hiding in Mumbai, Goa, UP and Gujarat during on the run period in order to evade arrest. During investigation it was revealed that she had also bought a mobile SIM from a person for Rs 2200 to talk to her close persons. She was also in contact with the manager of a famous Bollywood actor and other persons. DIG said that the person who helped her during her hiding will also be questioned.
