Gangster Binder Gujjar, currently in
Bhondsi jail, has allegedly made an
extortion call to a
contractor and threaten to kill his entire family if he fails to pay the amount. The contractor registered a case against the gangster at Palam Vihar police station on Saturday.
According to police, contractor Radheshyam, a Rajender Park resident, alleged that he received a call from Gujjar on Friday when he was working in Sector 23. “I received a call and caller identified himself as
Binder Gujjar and said I’m doing lots of work so pay Rs8 lakh as protection amount,” said complainant adding that caller threaten to eliminate his family if he failed to pay the amount.
Though he ignored the first call, on Saturday he received another call asking him to pay the money by Sunday or face consequences. Fearing for his life,the contractor filed a complaint against the gangster with Palam Vihar police station.
“A case has been registered and we are investigating. The number from which call was made has been put on surveillance,” said a police officer from Palam Vihar adding that it is difficult to say if the caller is actually Gujjar.
Binder Gujjar is one of the most dreaded gangsters of the city. He is currently lodged at the Bhondsi jail, and according to sources he has been making extortion call. There were allegations that the nexus between the jailed gangsters and prison staffers made life of other inmates a hell inside the jail. A few gangsters and a jail official were booked earlier for extortion.
