After dominating England on the field, Indian captain Virat Kohli has expressed his gratitude to his wife and best friend Anushka Sharma on friendship day. Kohli took to Twitter and wished his wife a ‘Happy Friendship Day’ and posted the picture of both of them together.

The celebrity couple has been a constant source of inspiration for each other and have never shied away from expressing their affection on social media. Earlier in the week, even as Kohli kept the England attack at bay and scored his maiden century on English soil, he was cheered along by the Bollywood star.

And then when he finally reached the century courtesy a cut towards point, the Indian captain reached for his marriage ring which was attached to a chain and kissed it. He then proceeded to blow kisses towards the gallery where Anushka Sharma was seated.

The captain then scored 51 in the second dig but his efforts could not salvage a win for his side as the rest of the batting did not stand up to offer any assistance and the visitors fell short by 31 runs.

Courtesy his superb effort, Kohli surpassed Steve Smith to become the number one Test batsman in the world with 934 points.
