Richard and Elaine Alves celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Richard and Elaine Alves, of Westport, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Whites of Westport.

The couple were married April 20, 1968, at St. Patrick’s Church in Somerset by the late Rev. Bernard Sullivan. Their wedding reception was held at Whites of Westport.

They are the parents of Keri Soares, of Westport, and Richard Alves Jr., of Dartmouth. They are the grandparents of Lauren Callahan, Dylan Soares, Connor Alves, Joya Alves and great grandparents of Summer Grace Callahan.

Mr. Alves works at Home Depot and Mrs. Alves is retired. They enjoy being with their family, having parties and making memories. They also enjoy traveling to the Caribbean, going on cruises and going to Cape Cod. To celebrate their anniversary, they will be sailing to Alaska.
