The men’s skin-brightening treatment that works for women

Road Test

This week I try … a brightening facial

The lowdown I have been invited into the cool and clubby Man Cave for a Revitalising and Brightening facial treatment. This procedure is targeted at men but works a treat on my skin, too. The therapist starts with the ubiquitous double-cleanse, followed by an exfoliation using volcanic black sand worked lightly over my skin. Next come three targeted masks that make my face look like a patchwork: a black salicylic acid-based one for my oily T-zone; a pink lactic acid-based mask for my cheeks, and an orange enzyme-and-antioxidant-based one for any spots left on my face. While these are working I have a hand and arm massage. Then the masks come off, followed by a relaxing facial massage and hydrating serum.

Pain factor Absolutely none.

What a thrill I got when this cute Givenchy Prisme Primer landed on my desk. A big tick goes to the glide-on consistency that gives great prefoundation luminous coverage. The formula is fail-safe with a blend of magnolia for radiance, rose for smoothing and pansy for hydration. Givenchy Prisme Primer in Rose Base Corrector SPF20, $65, sephora.com.au.

How do I remove dark nail polish without staining my skin?

The trick is to use your fingers to apply cuticle oil to the skin surrounding your nails and under the tip of your nail. The oil will help keep the dark polish from staining your skin. Try CND SolarOil, $7, cndshop.com.au, with its nourishing blend of jojoba oil and vitamin E.
