Let’s just face the truth, Kajol loves to give hugs. She does it to her husband Ajay Devgn, son Yug, daughter Nysa, mom Tanuja, her colleagues from Bollywood including Shah Rukh Khan, whose jodi with her is iconic, and just so many people that she adores. So, on Kajol 44th birthday on Sunday, we are also sending out a big virtual hug to the star and hope she keep making us laugh and cry like she has since the day she stepped into Bollywood. The daughter of veteran actor Tanuja, Kajol made her film debut in 1994 with Bekhudi. The film failed to do well at the box office but paved a way for her to move on to bigger roles and better movies.

In 1995, Kajol signed her first movie with Shah Rukh Khan, Abbas Mustan’s Baazigar. The film, in which Kajol played a girl who falls in love with a murderer, did stellar business at the ticket counters. She worked with SRK again in Karan Arjun and the brilliant and iconic, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

Everyone loved her and related with her as the confident but dad-fearing desi girl who falls for a magical man. The film is one of the most successful Hindi movies of all time. Next up in her long list of projects are Yeh Dillagi, Ishq and Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha.

She won several awards for her performances in Dushman, DDLJ, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham and My Name Is Khan. She made her characters from these movies iconic with her quirkiness and high energy.

In 1999, she married Ajay Devgn and continued to work in films, however, choosing her projects more carefully than before. In 2003, she welcomed her daughter Nysa and in 2010, she gave birth to her son, Yug.
