Nagpur: MIDC police on Saturday booked one Sachin Gupta for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl to whom he was related.
The police said that the girl’s mother had caught Gupta red handed molesting her daughter on June 25 but the matter was reported to the police only on Saturday after the girl’s father learnt about the incident.
As per police, the survivor and her mother had gone to Gupta’s house on July 25 and after dinner decided to spend the night at his house along with other relatives.
The survivor, her mother and the accused were sleeping in the same room when at around 2am, the survivor’s mother suddenly woke up and found that the accused was touching her daughter inappropriately.
Though she immediately raised an alarm and told everyone in the house about the incident, she decided not to report the matter to the police as it would reflect badly on the family, police said. But the survivor’s father approached MIDC police station as soon as he found out about the incident.
