Two spectators injured during rooster fight in TN

TIRUPUR: Two men watching a rooster fight in a farm near Dharapuram in Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu suffered injuries on Saturday when armed roosters (roosters with knives tied to their legs) attacked them.
The injured have been identified as A Abbas, 20, of Alangiyam and R Paramasivam, 39, of Coimbatore.

The rooster fight was conducted in a farm in Nandhavanapalayam village as part of the Aadi festival despite police denying permission to hold it, said a police officer.

Abbas sustained injuries on his chest while Paramasivam sustained injuries on his thigh. They were rushed to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

Police arrested farm owner Vijayakumar for hosting the event.
