A Mathadi worker allegedly killed himself in Turbhe on Saturday morning. His suicide note allegedly mentioned his disappointment with the government for not granting reservation to Marathas as one of the reasons for the drastic step.

Arun Jaganath Bhadale (25), who worked at the grain market in APMC, was found dead by his roommates around 6 a.m, senior police inspector Satish Nikam from the APMC police station said.

Bhadale’s cousin found a suicide note in his bag at his Koparkhairane residence in the afternoon. “The note says that an agent had charged Bhadale ₹27,000 to get him a loan of ₹2 lakh from a finance company. However, the loan was not approved and neither did the agent pay him back. He has also written about his disappointment at the State government for not granting reservation to the Maratha community. He said he was frustrated with these issues and that nobody was responsible for his death,” Mr. Nikam said.

The police said they will verify if the handwriting in the note is Bhadale’s. A case of accidental death has been registered with the APMC police.
