Porsche has confirmed a few specs of the 2020 Taycan, the Tesla Model S fighter slated to go on sale next year.
The brand's first full-electric sports car will pack more than 600 hp, according to Porsche. Two permanently synchronous motors put that power down through all four wheels.
As for range, the Taycan will aim for 310 miles in the European cycle. When its lithium ion batteries need more juice, it will be able to take advantage of its fast-charging capability to soak up enough energy in 15 minutes to cover 248 miles.
The Taycan will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds and pass 124 mph in less than 12 seconds.
Porsche is testing prototypes of the Taycan in extreme climates, with a team of around 40 specialists having assembled "three figures" worth of prototypes.
