Light to moderate showers likely in Chandigarh from Monday

CHANDIGARH: The Tricity has been witnessing light to moderate rainfall since Friday. Different parts of the city received moderate to high level of rainfall. The sectors falling in the southern parts of the city namely sectors 40, 38, 37, 36 and 39 received heavy rainfall on Saturday early afternoon. Northern and central parts of the city were comparatively dry. Most parts of Mohali also received heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is expected within the next few days in the Tricity as the atmospheric pressure continuous to build up. Speaking to TOI, Surinder Paul, director, IMD Chandigarh said, “The pattern of rain will be similar to how it has been for the last two-three weeks. It has been raining with intervals of a few days in between. Hence, since it rained today, the possibility of showers is not that high tomorrow, but again on the July 6 and 7, light to moderate showers are expected. This pattern will continue to stretch till the end of July and even early days of August.”

The maximum temperature on Saturday was 32.7 degree Celsius and the minimum was recorded at 27.0 degree Celsius. Similarly, the maximum humidity in the city was recorded at t 92% and the minimum was recorded at 62%.
