The Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra will be successful as it has been launched after seeking darshan at four main pilgrimage sites of Mewar – Shricharbhujanathji, Eklingji, Dwarkadhish and Shrinathji — said chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Sunday.

She also dedicated a model bus stand, built at an estimated cost of Rs 11 crore in Nathdwara in Rajsamand district, to the public.

Addressing a rally in Nathdwara, Raje said that the BJP government has carried out works that were not done in the past. “I want to remind the people of Nathdwara, the time period before 2003. Major projects such as Lalbagh were completed after that period. The model bus stand is a step in that direction. In future, there is a plan to establish a garden to ensure good health and clean surroundings for the people,” she said.

Raje said that development works carried out by the government are based on the feedback received from the people. “We will need the blessings of the people during the Gaurav Yatra so that we can carry out more development works as desired by the people,” she said.

State home minister Gulabchand Kataria, higher education minister Kiran Maheshwari, urban development and housing minister Srichand Kriplani, Rajsamand MP Hariom Singh Rathore were among those present at the rally.

The first leg of the Gaurav yatra, which was launched on Saturday, will be passing through the Udaipur division. The chief minister will be touring 165 of 200 assembly constituencies covering a stretch of more than 6,000 km.

The yatra is slated to conclude at Pushkar in Ajmer with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally.

After the conclusion of the yatra, major programmes will be organised in the remaining 35 assembly constituencies before the assembly elections to ensure that the message of “good governance” reaches the people.
