HP CM participates in concluding ceremony of Minjar fair

Himachal today participated in the concluding ceremony of the eight-day long international Minjar fair in

Thakur led a procession, which started from to Manjri Garden to immerse the Minjar (golden tassel) in the as the festivities came to an end with much fanfare and religious fervour.

The was accompanied by his wife Sadhna, the state's and some MLAs.

The procession was followed by palanquins of local deities and cultural troupes along with police and home jawans and the locals from all walks of the life.

Earlier in the day, Thakur performed the 'bhoomi-pujan' of widening and strengthening of 19 km stretch of Chamba-Khajjiar road to be completed at a cost of Rs 14.84 crore under central road funds.

The CM also inaugurated the science lab of a Government school in constructed at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore.

He then witnessed wrestling bouts at the historic Chaugan and distributed prizes to the winners.

In the evening, a colourful cultural programme was held at Chaugan and Thakur released the Minjar souvenir brought out by the mela organising committee.
