The South Western Railways have increased the speed of some trains plying between Mysuru and Bengaluru with effect from August 15, and also revised their arrival and departure timings.
As per the revised time table, 16232 Mysuru- Mayiladuturai Express will depart from Mysuru at 4.15 p.m. instead of 3.30 p.m., and arrive at Bengaluru at 6.45 p.m. instead of 6.20 p.m. The journey time has been cut by 20 minutes.
16023 Mysuru- Yesvathpur Express will leave Mysuru at 8.25 a.m. instead of 8.20 p.m., and arrive at Bengaluru at 10.55 a.m. instead of 11.05 a.m., with the duration of the journey reduced by 15 minutes.
16217 Mysuru- Sainagar Shirdi will depart from Mysuru at 5.30 a.m. instead of 5.10 a.m., and reach Bengaluru at 8 a.m. instead of 8.20 a.m., with the running time reduced by 15 minutes.
There is no change in the departure timing of 16518/ 16524 Kannur- Karwar Express. It will leave Mysuru at 5.30 a.m. as at present, but its running time has been reduced by 20 minutes, and it will reach Bengaluru at 8 a.m. instead of 8.20 a.m.
In the return direction, there is no change in the departure timings of their corresponding service but they will reach Mysuru early by 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
A release issued by SWR said there is no change in train number, stoppages and zonal interchange timings. The detailed stoppage timings will be as per new the time table which will come in to effect on August 15. The overall reduction in journey time for these trains ranges from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
By speeding up these trains, the journey time between Mysuru and Bengaluru will be reduced to under 2 hrs. 30 minutes.
