Headmaster held on charges of molesting 3 girls in UP’s Mirzapur

The headmaster of an upper primary school in a locality under Adalhat police station area of Mirzapur district was arrested on Friday after he allegedly molested three girls of the school on Thursday morning, police said.

They said the girls, one of seventh and two of eighth standard, alleged that headmaster Mohammad Arif molested them when they went to touch his feet for blessings after morning prayers on Thursday.

The girls first informed their parents about the incident and locals informed police on Friday morning.

On Friday morning the headmaster was attacked by angry locals. Police present on the spot somehow saved and brought him to the police station.

Adalhat police station officer Brijesh Singh said a case has been registered against the headmaster under relevant sections of IPC following a complaint by the locals. Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has also been included in the FIR. Further investigation is on.

The headmaster was later sent to the jail after being produced in the court.

The locals later gave a memorandum to district magistrate Anurag Patel demanding termination of the headmaster. Patel said, “After receiving the letter by locals, a probe will be carried out in the matter. If allegations are found true, the headmaster will be dismissed.”
