For a long time now, a group of the quacks has been playing with the lives of people in Gwalior and its surrounding areas. The latest victim in this long list is a 14-year-old boy Vicky Yadav, who died because of erroneous injection and hurried administration of glucose drip.

Vicky who had developed high fever on Wednesday morning was brought to Sharma Clinic, run by a quack, Dr Mahesh Sharma. After examining Vicky, Dr Sharma gave him two injections before administrating two bottles of glucose. According to the relatives of Vicky and some eye witnesses Vicky’s situation worsened after the injections and glucose drip, and he died within minutes.

On getting information about the death of Vicky, the police reached the clinic and shifted the deceased to JAH hospital for postmortem. A panel of doctors comprising of Dr Chandrashekhar Bhagmare, Dr Ajay Gupta and Dr HiraLal conducted the postmortem and reported that the patient had died due to wrong injection and hasty administration of the drip.

Some of the vital organs of the deceased have been sent to the Forensic Lab for further tests.

It has been reported that at least four deaths had taken place earlier due to the malfeasances of this quack, but every time he escaped the hands of the law due to his money and muscle power. In one incident that happened in 2015, a Dinesh had died at this clinic due to wrong treatment.

A case was registered at the Gwalior Police Station but no action could be taken against the quack as the complaint by Dinesh’s mother had been withdrawn.

It is learnt that the quack had threatened the hapless woman with a revolver forcing her to withdraw complaint.
