NEW DELHI: There was high drama at
Kerala Bhawan after a knife wielding man barged into its premises threatening to harm
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijaya.
The man entered the premises carrying a knife and some papers and threatened to 'finish' the Kerala
CM.
The
security personnel immediately overpowered him and whisked him out. He was questioned by police and intelligence officials who found him mentally disturbed.
The man has been identified as
Vimal Raj (46). He has been arrested and an FIR registered.
DCP (New Delhi) Madhur Verma said, "A PCR call vide DD No 9A regarding unknown man trying to enter forcibly in Kerala house was received at PS Connaught Place. One person namely Mr Vimal Raj a resident of Kadavoor, Karippuzha, Kerala was found at Kerala house and detained."
"He, as per medical documents carried by him, is 80% mentally unsound. He is being sent to IBHAS Shahdara as per law," Verma added.
