Indore: The students of two private universities in the city have won national university film making competition organised by University Grants Commission (UGC). Students of Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya and Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences have bagged award in the competition held on theme of anti-ragging.
Entries for the competition were called in August 2017 and the winners were announced on July 31, 2018. A total of 10 films made to the final cut from around 100 entries. Indore is the only city in the country which saw two of its institutions winning the competition. It is also the only city in the state to have won the competition.
A team from Shri Vaishnav Vishwavidyalaya had made short film titled, ‘The Worst Day’, whereas the topic of film made by students of Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences was ‘The Last Walk’. The winners will be awarded at a function shortly. The selected films will also be uploaded on the UGC website.
