GURUGRAM: Taking cognizance of complaints, chief
minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday ordered the suspension of an executive
engineer of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) for using sub-standard material in road construction.
Officials said the executive engineer had used sub-standard materials to construct roads from Basatpur to Kapdiwas and from Chandu to Gadi Gopalpur in September-October last year. The deficiencies were observed during an inspection by CM’s technical advisor, senior engineer and executive engineer (quality control).
Apart from the executive engineer’s suspension, Rs 4.70 lakh have been recovered from the contractor concerned from its security deposits as penalty, officials said.
At his grievance meeting, where he heard as many as 24 complaints, the CM also announced that mutation of plots or houses can be done right after registry, which will curb duplication of ownership. “But if registry of any land is done wrongly or without valid documents, then the tehsildar or naib tehsildar concerned will be held responsible,” he added.
Disposing of another complaint, a three-member committee, headed by director of urban local bodies department, was constituted by Khattar to look into the encroachment of gaushala land in Chauma village. The committee will take a decision in the matter and then send its report, he said.
In response to another complaint, the CM directed officials to accompany the complainant and inspect the Maharana Pratap Swarna Jayanti Park in Sector 29 for maintenance issues.
He also directed officials to call a meeting of Street Vendors Committee within a week and take decisions as per law in view of suggestions given by the Rehri Association. The CM also ordered a vigilance inquiry in a case related to the use of community site for some other purpose by residents of Palam Vihar Colony.
If a senior citizen who is eligible for old age pension, but doesn’t have any proof, can get an age certificate from a medical board, the CM said.
