Xiaomi Qin1, Qin1s feature phones with realtime voice translation launched in China

NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio started the trend of 4G VoLTE enabled feature phone with the launch of its JioPhone last year. Now, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has gone a step ahead and has introduced a feature phone running Android-based MOCOR5 operating system. The company has launched two new feature phones -- Qin1 and Qin1s in China.
Both the devices come with advance features and don’t just focus on the calling facility offered by any feature phone. Backed by machine learning and artificial intelligence, the phones offer realtime multi-lingual voice translation. The Xiaomi Qin AI will come in Black and White colour options and the customers can pre-order it from company’s crowdfunding platform. The device is priced at 199 yuan and the company will start the shipping from September 15. Presently, the company has not announced anything about the India launch, but it is expected that Xiaomi will bring the devices in India as the feature phone market is still growing in the country.

Xiaomi Qin1 and Qin1 s feature 2.8-inch QVGA display with 240x320 pixel resolution. The device offer realtime voice translation in 17 languages. The phones also comes equipped with infrared sensor just like the other Xiaomi smartphones. The IR blaster transforms the device into a universal remote and enable users to control their TV, ACs and other home devices.
Both the feature phones are backed by a 1480mAh battery which claims to deliver 420 minutes of talk time or 15 days of standby time on a single charge. Measuring 132x53.8x8.5mm, both the feature phones come with USB Type C charging port.
The Xiaomi Qin1 and Qin1 s come with T9 keypad along with the D-Pad navigation keys for accessing the menu. The devices also come with weather report and alarm clock functionalities. The handset come with dual SIM functionality and are powered by dual-core MediaTek MT6260A processor. The devices offer 8MB of RAM and 16MB internal storage. For connectivity the company has incorporated WiFi, Bluetooth support.
