The Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Karnataka will be taking up a survey on civic amenities in the State, which will be carried out till December 2018. This is part of the ongoing 76th round of National Sample Survey (NSS), which had started on July 1, but was stalled due to technical reasons. The survey is expected to resume shortly.

Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, C.K. Narayan, Additional Director of the directorate, said that 410 areas have been selected for the survey. “We can get clarity and uniformity of the statistical system in the State. The survey will influence decision-making of both the State and central governments. Various parameters, such as drinking water, sanitation, hygiene, housing condition, will be taken into consideration," he said.
