Ujjain: UMC warns action against stray cattle owners


Ujjain: City residents are fed up with the menace of stray cattle which is a major cause of road accidents in which many people either injured or died. Municipal commissioner Prathibha Pal instructed the officials concerned to direct the Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) team to catch stray cattle and send them to cowsheds. She also warned the cattle owners not leave their cattle on roads. The UMC also prepared a list of such cattle owners for legal action.

Municipal commissioner takes disciplinary action

Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal issued show cause notices to negligent employees of the civic body. She also suspended class three employee Sapana Gosar and relieved zone 1 head Ramkumar Sarwan after withholding increment in his salary.  Four other employees have been warned for their mistakes.


UMC penalises litterbugs

UMC officials on Friday inspected Chatri Chowk and other areas and penalised shopkeepers and restaurant owners for littering.  The team penalised such businessmen and recovered over Rs 5000 as penalty.
