Over 3,800kg-worth cannabis seized in 2 days from Tripura, Assam

About 3390.69 kg of ganja (dry cannabis) packed in 85 plastic drums of different sizes was buried under the soil of the land belonging to those two people.

The entire consignment of Ganja was seized and both persons arrested in connection with the case under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

In another operation conducted on August 2, 488 kg of Ganja at Angla Bazar, Badarpur in Karimganj district of was seized from an abandoned house by a team of Assam Police, BSF, and (CRPF) personnel.

A total of 8900 kg of ganja originating from Tripura has been seized in the past few months, the DRI said. It further stated that it is closely monitoring the development in the Eastern sector in partnership with other Tripura Police, BSF, and other agencies.
