XGen Plus founder appointed on ICANN's country code policy panel

and enterprise solutions provider today said its founder and CEO, Ajay Data, has been roped in by global managing body on a panel that makes policies for specific to countries like .in domains.

An (The Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) , who did not wish to be named, confirmed the appointment of Data and said that he will join the panel in October.

"It is a very important milestone for as it has 22 different languages which are required to be brought on to Internet for mass adoption of services. This is first time has got representation at ccNSO. We expect Data to push for support of Indian scripts in internet space," ISPAI said.

Around 170 countries are represented in ccNSO by a panel of 18 members. Of these 18 members, 15 members are elected and three are appointed on the basis of nominations.

Data has been appointed on the panel by nomination committee of ccNSO--one of the three policy making bodies at ICANN.

His firm is first to start complete addresses in Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali and other scripts.
