Chandigarh: Haryana government on Friday approved revision of pay scales to teaching and non-teaching staff of government universities and colleges and government-aided colleges according to the 7th pay commission. The enhanced pay will be implemented with retrospective effect from January 1, 2016. This revision would put an additional annual burden of Rs 230.6 crore on the state exchequer.
Finance minister Captain Abhimanyu said assistant professors of universities and colleges will now get Rs 57,700-79,800 whereas, associate professors will be paid Rs 1,31,400 and professors Rs 1,44,200-Rs 1,82,200. Similarly, assistant librarians will get Rs 57,700-Rs 68,900, deputy librarians Rs 79,800-Rs 131,400 and librarians Rs 144,200.
The finance minister said physical education lecturer and assistant director of sports department would get Rs 57,700-Rs 68,900, deputy director Rs 79,800-Rs 1,31,400 and director Rs 1,44,200. The registrar and controller of examination would get Rs 1,44,200, sub registrar and sub controller of examination would get Rs 79,800 and assistant registrar and assistant controller of examination would get Rs 56,100. Pro vice-chancellor and vice-chancellor would also get pay scale as per the 7th pay commission, the minister added.
He said the number of teaching and non-teaching employees who would be benefited from the enhanced salary included 1,990 in government colleges, 2,956 in government-aided colleges, 332 in Kurukshetra University, 287 in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, 64 in Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, 12 in Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, 18 in Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, 116 in Bhagat Phool Singh Women University, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat, and 34 in Indira Gandhi University, Rewari.
