PANCHKULA: The special investigation team (SIT) of Panchkula police, which is handling the Panchkula violence case, on Saturday arrested the wanted accused in
Dera violence case,
Gulab Singh, from Zirakpur (Punjab).
As per the information given by the Panchkula SIT incharge, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Adarshdeep Singh, Gulab Singh, 40, a resident of Dera, Sirsa,
Haryana, was wanted for his involvement in planning the violence.
The accused was traced on the basis of the intelligence from Zirakpur, Mohali (Punjab). There was a reward of
Rs 50,000 on the accused Gulab Singh by the Haryana police.
The accused was wanted under the FIR number 345 under charges of sedition and planning and instigating violence in Panchkula. ACP Singh, said, “The accused Gulab Singh was close to the accused Baba Ram Rahim. Accused would be produced in the district court complex, Sector-1, Panchkula and his police remand would be taken.”
During the police remand, we will try to find out more information regarding the violence, added ACP Singh. Till now, a total of 38 arrests has been made in the case so far, said cops.
