Singh Deo raises B’ngir bypass road issue

| | Balangir | in Bhubaneswar

The construction of Balangir bypass road, although sanctioned in 2013, remains a nonstarter till date as the revised estimate was not sanctioned by the Centre.

Raising the issue in the LokSabha, local MP Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo pointed out that in 2013, NH 26 bypass road to Balangir was sanctioned for construction and even after five years, no progress has been found in the project as the revised cost is not sanctioned.

In the absence of a bypass road, denizens of Balangir face traffic woes.

Due to heavy vehicles and trucks through the town, as there is no alternative pathway, the road passing through the town gets heavily crowded, causing many inconveniences and accidents, Singh Deo pointed out.

Construction of bypass road in Balangir town will ease out city traffic and will save financial loss due to obstruction in the flow of traffic, he said further, and requested the Union Road Transport Ministry to sanction the revised amount at the earliest to expedite the project.
