Ujjain: Meeting held to frame roadmap for Swachh Survekshan 2019


Ujjain: A meeting was organised on Thursday to gear up the cleanliness works going on in city for the upcoming Swachh Survekshan 2019. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Meena Jonwal and municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal.

Addressing the meeting Jonwal said, ‘This time we should work hard and get three-star rating in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan 2019’. She also praised the municipal workers for their relentless performance due to which city has transformed into one of the cleanest city and secured good position in the previous Swachh Survekshan.

On the occasion, Pal said cleanliness is not merely our daily routine job but it is one of our civic responsibilities. She directed the municipal officers and workers to organise awareness drive till August 13 and educate citizens about dry and wet domestic waste. Determined and dedicated efforts will definitely pay and the city will certainly get three-star rating this time in the survey, she said.


She pointed out that during holidays and Sunday, waste quantity increases due to domestic cleaning activities. Therefore, special waste collection vehicles will be arranged for Sundays. Assistant commissioner Yogendra Patel, health officer BS Mehte and other municipal staff members were present at the meeting.
