Eminent persons from various walks of life paid rich tribute to historian Sadananda Agrawal on his first death anniversary at his native village Menda in Subarnapur district.

Water Resource Minister Niranjan Pujari, Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra and litterateurs Madhusudan Pati and Srinibas Udgata remembered Agrawal at a memorial meeting organised by the Sadananda Agrawal Smruti Committee.

Narasingha Mishra, referring to the books of Agrawal written on the history of Odisha, music and tribal culture said he would request the authorities of the Raja Ram Mohan Library in Bhubaneswar to procure the books.

He would also speak to the Assembly Speaker to ensure that the books find a place in the Assembly Library, he added.

He alleged that the State Government has not given Agrawal the honour he deserves.

Minister Pujari said Agrawal had taken a keen interest in development of his area and was a keen follower of saint poet Bhima Bhoi. On the occasion, a book of fourteen articles of Agrawal on Bhima Bhoi titled ‘Manavbadi Santha Bhima Bhoi’ was unveiled.
