Director General of Police R.P. Thakur has said that government is planning to set up Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs) district-wise to check cyber crimes in the State.
“FSLs will help to speed up investigation, avoid delay in collecting evidences and prevent cyber crimes, which are on the rise”, the DGP said.
He was speaking at a meeting at the District Police Headquarters here on Friday. West Godavari district Superintendent of Police M. Ravi Prakash, Additional SPs K. Eshwar Rao and M. Mahesh Kumar and other officers participated.
The police chief interacted with the staff and enquired about the welfare measures and their well being.
Addressing the officers, he said special police stations would be set up to check cybercrimes across the State.
The DGP assured to conduct thorough investigation into Sri Gowthami murder case (which occurred under Palakol Rural police station limits) and in the sexual assault case in Chintalapudi Girls Welfare Hostel.
Multiple focus points
Mr. Thakur said that focus would be laid on improving Locked House Monitoring System (LHMS) and Dial-100 and on preventing road accidents and human trafficking.
Expressing concern over the attack on Rapur police station in Nellore district, the DGP appealed to the public not to take law into their hands and assured that police too would not be spared, if they commit any mistake.
Later, he along with his wife, Reena Thakur, SP and other officers participated in ‘Vanam Manam’ programme and planted saplings in the police headquarters.
