Ujjain: Noori Khan regrets her act against Jyotiraditya Scindia

Ujjain: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) spokesperson Noori Khan expressed regret over writing a letter to PCC chief Kamal Nath and Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the alleged insult to her during a press conference of PCC election campaign committee head Jyotiraditya Scindia in Ujjain on July 28.

Noori came under sharp criticisms during past couple of days for her action as it was seen as an anti-disciplinary move. She on Friday told a press conference that during Scindia’s press conference on July 28, he mistakenly asked her to leave the dais and sit elsewhere due to the conspiracy hitched by certain local leaders.

“Disheartened over the incident that how a leader like Scindia can ask me to leave the dais during press conference despite knowing that I am a PCC spokesperson, I wrote the letter to senior party leaders,” she said regretting her step and wanted to stop all types of controversies on the issue.

Noori charged that BJP wanted to take political mileage over her issue pleading that it was insult of a woman and was also flaring-up the issue that her being a Muslim leader. “The BJP leaders should first stop ever increasing crime against women in Madhya Pradesh. How the leaders of a party who did not provide justice to the estranged wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can advocate for justice to me,” she asked. Responding to a question, she admitted that it was her mistake that she tried to sit on dais as she was not invited there. “It was my inexperience that such a situation arose during press conference,” she added.
