An Air India Milan-Delhi flight was forced to return to the Italian airport shortly after take-off when a passenger attempted to forcefully enter the plane's cockpit.
The incident took place on Thursday, following which the passenger on AI 138 was deboarded and handed over to the local police for investigation, an Air India spokesperson said.
The passenger was of Indian origin, named Gurupreet Singh. The incident led to a delay of 2 hours and 35 minutes. There were a total 245 passengers on-board the plane. The airline spokesperson didn't comment on what led to the incident, only adding that an investigation is underway.
