Indore : The city police on Saturday arrested a person for snatching mobile phone and recovered two phones from him. He is being questioned for other such crimes.
Additional Superintendent of Police Manish Khatri said MIG Colony resident Vaishnavi Gangrade had lodged a complaint with Annapurna police station staff that she and relative Rishab were going to D-Mart when a youth came from behind and snatched her mobile phone near Gopur Square and fled. The victim saw last four digits of his bike’s number and conveyed it to police.
Police received information a youth on bike with same number was seen moving in Annapurna area after which they cordoned off the area and arrested the accused.
Accused identified as Shahrukh Ali, a resident of Firdous Nagar, admitted the crime. Police recovered mobile phone from him. During questioning, he confessed to snatching a mobile phone from a person in Rajendra Nagar area in May.
