Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The athletes of Bhopal performed superbly at the State-level Gymnastics competition in Ujjain and won a total of 41 medals with 15 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze medals a few days ago. These athletes, who have been training at the T.T. Nagar Stadium under the pay and play scheme, participated under the leadership of Coach Ms. Shumayla Khan in the tournament.
The athletes of Bhopal became winner in the under-14, under-17 and under-19 rhythmic events, and the artistic under-19 event, while they emerged as the overall runner-ups in the acrobatic event.
In the tournament, Shivani Namdev won 1 gold and 3 silver, Sanskriti Parihar 3 gold and 1 bronze, and Dhara Pal won 3 gold and 1 bronze medal to earn ‘State Champion’ title. Here, it is noteworthy that Sanskriti Parihar also won ‘Dubai Cup’ at the International Gymnastics Tournament in Dubai, a few days ago.
The medal-winning athletes meet with Dr. S.L. Thaosen, the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, and informed him about their achievements.
Sports Director Dr. S.L. Thaosen congratulated and appreciated all the athletes for their brilliant performance. He motivated them to keep on with the same zeal in upcoming tournaments.
