Ujjain : The two-day 17th regional conference of neuro scientists was inaugurated on Saturday in which scientists from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh participated to discuss recent developments in neurological science and solutions for recent challenges posed by neurological diseases.
The programme began with a Saraswati Vandana and Neurological society of India president Dr Suresh Nair from Thiruvananthapuram, along with programme director Dr JS Kathpal and programme convenor, Dr Rakesh Gupta lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme.
During the conference doctors pointed out that “Neurological science had been developing at a tremendous pace. Now critical brain and spinal problems can be treated by medical science. New technologies have been developed through which fractured arteries of the brain can be corrected. Epilepsy too can be cured with new medical technologies”. They also emphasised upon the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical science.
Several eminent doctors Padma Shree Dr VS Mehta (New Delhi), Dr Ram Mohan and Dr Subhash Koul from Hyderabad, Dr Tareek Matin (New Delhi), Dr BP Singh, Dr Dev Pujari from Mumbai expressed their views and said human beings use just 0.5 per cent of the brain’s full capacity, so much so that highly intelligent personalities like Einstein too, used just one per cent of his brain. Immense possibilities lay in the future, if this limit is crossed and humans could use 10 per cent of the brain’s total capacity, they stated. During the session discussions were held on other neurological diseases like paralysis, brain tumour, brain and head injuries and use of CT scan and MRI to identify these diseases.
Programme convenor and senior neurosurgeon Dr Rakesh Gupta informed that more than 150 neurosurgeons and neuro physicians were participating in the event. Energy minister Paras Jain, MLA Mohan Yadav and chemist association president Om Jain were also present in the programme.
President of Indore Neurological Society, Dr Deepak Jain and JS Kathpal informed that a public awareness session will also be held after the conference from 3 pm to 4 pm on Sunday. In this session neurosurgeons and neuro physicians will suggest the remedial actions for problems like head and spinal injuries, brain attack and paralysis to common citizens. Rakesh Gupta said participation in the programme was open to alland participants could benefit through the awareness session to get significant suggestions and treatment for their neurological problems.
