A 37-year-old man, staffer at a courier firm, was electrocuted when the van he was driving came in contact with a low-lying overhead line in Tiruverkadu.

The deceased, Shankar, was working as a driver for a private courier firm.The tragedy took place when he parked the van at Kaveri Nagar.
The vehicle was in contact with the overhead cable, which, however, Shankar was unaware of. When he got down from the van, he was electrocuted. Those who noticed the incident rushed him to a hospital nearby but the doctors declared him brought dead. Further investigation is on.
