LUDHIANA: A 60-year-old man reportedly shot himself dead with his licensed double barrel pistol at his rented accommodation on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased had been residing there alone from the past several years.
The deceased has been identified as Sukhdev Singh of Gobind Singh Nagar of Lohara area.
According to sources, Sukhdev hailed from Raikot tehsil and was living in the city from the past 12 years. About four years ago he had sold his house and started living in a small rented accommodation. On Wednesday afternoon the neighbours heard gunshot and rushed inside the house to find Sukhdev dead. They then informed the police.
The SHO at Daba police station inspector Pavittar Singh said the man was living alone in the house since long. The cops had recorded statements of the neighbours.
