Time for talking is over for Chiefs, says Rama

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele believes that winning is all that counts, and making verbal promises about success is meaningless.

Chiefs begin their 2018/19 Absa Premiership campaign on Saturday when they take on reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns in Tshwane.

The Glamour Boys have made a number of changes to their squad which has seen the likes of Tsepo Masilela, Keagan Buchanan and William Twala depart.

In addition, the biggest new arrival has been Khama Billiat from Sundowns.

Nonetheless, Mphahlele, who missed much of last season with a serious injury, takes the view that it is time Amakhosi start delivering the goods.

“We've been talking, talking, talking. I think it's about time now we actually show them on the pitch to say, look, we're giving it everything,” he said, as quoted by KickOff website.

"If we lose giving it everything, then we can just go home and say, 'You know what, I gave it everything. But we'll show it in the pitch.

"There's no use talking and going on social media, writing, 'We're going to win the treble, we're going to win this'. We have to go and show it on the pitch.

"It's going to be difficult, but we're prepared because we're hurting from last season, so we'll have a go again."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
