The Karnataka High Court on Friday summoned the City Police Commissioner T Sunil Kumar in connection with the incident in which a mob had attacked officials of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and workers engaged in removal of illegal banners, buntings and flex boards in Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits.

Viewing the incident seriously as the illegal structures were being removed on the directions of the High Court, a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice R Devdas directed the Commissioner to ensure that probe into the incident is completed by Tuesday and report is submitted to the Court in the form an affidavit.

The Court also said that the magistrate court shall transfer the application for bail filed by any person arrested in this case to be transferred to the High Court.

The Bench made it clear that it will not tolerate any incident of causing obstruction to public servants in discharging their duties by anyone or coming in the way of enforcing the court’s directions.
