Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel has said that universities must redress students’ problems immediately. Entire action should be taken within time limit to avoid damage to students’ future.
This was said by the Governor at the Foundation Day function of the Barkatullah University here today. Moreover, the Governor inspected the University and awarded students for their achievements in different fields.
Smt. Patel further mentioned that students need to understand the importance of time. They must accomplish work within the time limit fixed for it.
She told the students that discipline must be the biggest merit and responsibility for them.Moreover, Smt. Patel mentioned that we all should have notion that how could we raise the standard of the university together.
She told the parents to give good culture to their children and make efforts to make them a model citizen. Stressing on need for plantation, she stated that each family must plant 5 saplings and ensure protection till they become trees. Mentioning about the Women Empowerment, the Governor said that self-help groups could uplift economic condition of women. Half of the population would not progress till we make women vigilant.
Furthermore, Smt. Patel urged students to take resolution to say no to dowry, to stop child marriage and to make Madhya Pradesh a T.B. free state. She mentioned that universities must also pay attention towards the welfare of its employees.
The Governor told media that they must highlight good work accomplished by people.Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. D.C. Gupta and Registrar Dr. U.N. Shukl Singh besides Senior Officers were present on the occasion.
‘Committee should be constituted to avoid delay in examinations and results’
Bhopal: The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel held a meeting of H.O.Ds. and Senior Officers of the Barkatullah University today.
She also raised questions on the problem of delay in examinations and results in the meeting. Smt. Patel suggested that a committee should be constituted to solve problem of delay in examinations and results.
She said that committee should also give suggestions on how to reduce examinations’ time and how to declare results on time. Smt. Patel further mentioned that those who prepare papers should be called in the university and papers should be prepared within one or two days at the same place.
This is essential in the interest of students. On delay in evaluation of answer sheets, Smt. Patel stated that it must be solved by holding deliberations with professors.
Moreover, on the problem of delay being faced by students to receive marks sheet, the Governor said that company which prepares marks sheet should be called in the university and provide marks sheets to all after getting it prepared within 2 days.
She further mentioned that little more time should be given to PhD students, if they are not able to submit their thesis on time. Smt. Patel stated that we should also teach foreign languages to students as there are good employment opportunities in the world today for students, who are well versed with foreign languages.
The Governor Smt. Patel also took a round of the Barkatullah University’s campus. While visiting girls’ hostel, she told the students that Lokpals are being appointed in every university. Their problems will be solved definitely if they notify them with their grievances.
