United and Bayern’s swap shop

A number of potential swap deals between Manchester United and Bayern Munich are being reported today by the football press.

First up is the Daily Mirror saying that striker Robert Lewandowski is “wanted by United as part of swap deal to take Anthony Martial to Bayern Munich”. United want to sign the Polish captain and would be willing to let Martial leave for a European club. 

However, German newspaper Bild reports that it’s not Lewandowski who United are after but Jerome Boateng. The defender’s move to Paris Saint-Germain fell through and Bild says that United will offer forward Martial in a deal to bring the German centre-half to Old Trafford. 

Spurs will listen to offers for Alderweireld, Rose and Dembele

Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele could be sold in the next week after it was reported that Tottenham will “consider any potential offers” for the trio. Alderweireld is a target for Manchester United while Dembele has been linked with Inter Milan. (Sky Sports)

Wilfried Zaha: Crystal Palace to Chelsea

It’s claimed that Wilfried Zaha has told his Crystal Palace teammates that he wants to move to London rivals Chelsea. The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international has rejected a new contract at Palace. (Daily Mirror)

Sarri to hold Courtois talks

The Daily Star reports that new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is “desperate” to keep goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and will hold “crunch talks” with the Belgian this week. The Daily Express adds that Chelsea have rejected a £31m bid from Real Madrid for the 26-year-old stopper.

Clubs battle for Rojo

Everton have been joined by Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille and Zenit St Petersburg in the chase to sign Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo. United boss Jose Mourinho is willing to sell the Argentine “for the right price”. (The Sun)

Loftus-Cheek could seek loan abroad

If Ruben Loftus-Cheek doesn’t get first-team opportunities at Chelsea at the start of the season he could “pursue a loan move abroad”. The European transfer deadline closes on 31 August. (The Times)

After having a £27m bid rejected by Levante, Bournemouth will have to return with a £30m offer if they want to sign Jefferson Lerma. The 23-year-old impressed for Colombia at this summer’s World Cup. (The Sun)

Done deals: Meyer, Mawson, Williams

Sky Sports reports that Crystal Palace have completed the signing of German midfielder Max Meyer on a free transfer. Fulham have signed Alfie Mawson for £15m from Swansea and Everton defender Ashley Williams has joined Stoke City on a season-long loan deal.
