Forty Five Oxytocin injections seized from a nursing home

The Rachakonda police, in its second strike on traffickers this week in Yadagirigutta here, has rescued four more girls on Thursday.

Confirming that the girls were being injected with hormones to induce puberty, the police also zeroed in on a Registered Medical Practitioner and recovered from his nursing home nearly 45 Oxytocin injections.

Continuing its ongoing drive to curb prostitution and to rescue minor girls, the police said it carried out raids on houses under suspicion in Ganesh Nagar and Angadi Bazar here, and found four girls without proper identity proof. “The adults say the girls are their children, but the girls were unable to tell their ‘parents’ names,” Bhongir DCP E. Ramchandra Reddy said.

CCTV checked

Six persons, two men and four women, posing as parents and guardians were taken into custody. Following investigation involving eight traffickers who were arrested on July 30, the Special Operations Team also raided nursing homes, checked CCTV footage and registers.

“An RMP Narsimha from Anuradha Nursing Home has been taken into custody and interrogation is on. Oxytocin injections and some equipment has been seized. We are also searching for another practitioner Swamy,” the DCP said.

So far, a total of 11 houses in these colonies have been sealed and interrogation is ongoing, he informed.

Child welfare

Chairman of the District Child Welfare Committee K. Nimmaih said arrangements were being made to send the girls aged below 6 to the Sishugriha in Nalgonda, and those above 6 would be sent to a Home in Hyderabad.

Mr. Ramchandra Reddy said the raids, rescue and the drive would continue, till the township is made free from such activities.
